New Park Multi-Purpose Building
Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument » New Park Multi-Purpose Building
The National Park Service is considering the construction of a multi-purpose building at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. This facility would be located in an area previously disturbed within the park administration area, adjacent to the existing playground. It is needed to provide a community gathering place for monument residents. Many law enforcement employees and their families are required to live in the monument. A place for residents to socialize is important to build a sense of community and to give them a place to get together, particularly during the hot summer months. Another use would be to provide an exercise area that is critical for park law enforcement officers to meet fitness requirements. There are no nearby local communities that offer similar amenities. The facility would be available to all park employees.
