1.) Existing residual areas of asphalt that remain from pre-flood events that currently lie outside of the proposed layout (Refer to Circulation Plan) for the connecting spur tying the 200 & 300 Loops together will be removed from the site. 2.) Scoured depressions to the north of the 200 Loop restroom will be filled w/ topsoil (some or all of which will be salvaged from the 'connector' road excavation) and the area finish-graded, seeded, and mulched---leaving no bare soils exposed. [NOTE: In early winter/late autumn, or early spring, a streamside revegetation project will introduce Willow poles along the top of the bank and introduce Willow stakes between the toe of the bank to the OHWM (ordinary high water mark). A selection of riparian saplings or young trees will also be planted during the dormant months: Box Elder in most hospitable areas of soil, Sycamore on less hospitable sites. If RPM stock can be obtained, it will be specified. At present, it is observed that Cottonwood is self-seeding along the bank.] A detailed Scope of Work will be prepared this summer to address the streambank revegetation. 3.) In preparation for constructing the 'connector' road (tying the 200 & 300 Loops together) topsoils and organic material will be excavated to a depth of 8 inches (down to the subgrade) to a width 14 feet wide for a linear distance of approximately 72 feet (25 CY of material). Estimated excavation in preparation for extending the existing 304 campsite and for laying a possible new campsite next to campsite 203 will result in approximately 14 CY of additional material. (NOTE: Excavated materials will be utilized in filling the existing depressions north of the restroom (item 2. above). A six inch course of 1.5 inch minus native limestone aggregate will be laid along the new road alignment and camp site parking pads in preparation for a 12 foot wide 2 inch course of bituminous asphalt paving (NOTE: paving to be contracted out at a later date). All construction work will conclude with seeding and mulching of any exposed areas of topsoil. 4.) Assessment of the need to renumber campsites following construction, and of installing appropriate new signing to guide visitors will be undertaken, and new signing purchased and installed prior to the 2010 camping season. 5.) The on-line reservation system Recreation.gov will be updated with appropriate site maps and new campsite numbers in preparation for the 2010 season.
