Replace Light Towers

Chamizal National Memorial » Replace Light Towers » Document List

This project will replace the current light towers with newly manufactured, more energy efficient light towers.

The Denver Service Center developed the original design for the light towers. It included two structures, each consisting of two light towers adjoined by a catwalk. This original design was not followed. Instead, only a single post light tower on each side of the outdoor stage was installed. These light towers sustain lights, which weigh approx. 400 lbs. (8 lights at 50 lbs/ea). The existing towers are showing signs of corrosion, especially throughout their base, which may presents a safety hazard to both employees and visitors. The lack of a catwalk on which to stand when replacing lights further worsens this already dangerous activity.
