Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area Comprehensive Park Trails Plan
Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area and Middle Delaware National Scenic River » Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area Comprehensive Park Trails Plan
The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area Trails Plan & GMP Amendment was approved in January 2000 as a result of a comprehensive planning process and an Environmental Impact Statement. The plan was developed over a two year period with considerable public input. The selected action, Alternative B "Multiple Linking Networks", best meets the park's mission and goals established for a new trails system because it provides a full range of trail opportunities to visitors, encourages outside linkages and partnerships, and provides the highest level of resource protection.
As funding and staff have allowed, the park has been and continues to implement the park trails plan.
Final planning documents are available from this page for review and reference.
Please visit the park's website (www.nps.gov/dewa) or contact the park for more information on trails currently open.
