1. All campsite accessibility upgrades are designed to fit into the existing campsite borders and shall meet the intent of the attached conceptual site plan drawings. Dimensions, materials, quantities and slopes shall be verified prior to installation. The contractor shall provide a final site plan for each campsite prior to installation. The final site plan shall be a copy of the conceptual site plan with variations signature for the contractor, a list of materials quantities and any written notes for variations to the conceptual site plan. The final site plan shall be approved by the COTR prior to construction.
2. Campsite areas shall not exceed 1.8% slopes (average campsite area is approximately 800 square feet).
3. The finished surface of campsite areas shall be compacted of decomposed granite 6 inches thick and shall extend 2 feet beyond campsite boundary.
4. Decomposed granite of camping area surface to be flush with concrete parking pad height. Where asphalt remains in the parking pull out, the existing asphalt shall be saw-cut in a straight line.
5. Site drainage shall follow existing drainage patters. Drainage shall not be conveyed through the new sites.
6. Campsite borders shall be pressure treated 6" x 6" wood. The wood to be brown in color and shall not be painted.
7. Campsite borders shall be anchored with 4 foot #4 rebar on 4 foot centers and 6 inches from any end.
8. Campsite borders 6" x 6" pressure treated borders shall be flush with granite and slate mixture for water to run over edge of border (slope to be determined on site).
9. Campsite borders shall be lagged on all corners with two 5/16" x 4" lag screws. All corners shall be cut at 45 degrees for flush connections.
10. A concrete accessible parking space shall be provided. The parking space will range from 16 feet (minimum required for van accessible space) to 20 feet wide and 60 inches in length.
11. Slopes within the parking area shall not exceed 1.8%. The driveway section of the parking stall shall not exceed 4.75% slope unless site grading can be reduced by using a steeper slope. Where site grading can be minimized slope not more than 8% may be used. Cross slopes shall not exceed 1.8%.
12. Parking spaces shall be 6 inch concrete with ¾ inch aggregate. The concrete shall be 4000 psi and must have #3 rebar in a grid pattern of 24 inch center spacing. The rebar shall be 2 inches clear from the top or bottom surface. Concrete shall have a medium broom finish and colored dark to minimize contrast with the existing surroundings.
13. Earthwork operations shall be minimized. Soil generated from campsite and pad installation may be used where fill and cath-slope grading is required. Fill shall be compacted in 6 inch lifts.
14. All excess material and debris shall be removed from the park.
15. Two concrete wheel stops shall be placed at the back of parking space. Wheel stops shall be 3 feet in length and 6 inches in height. Each wheel stop shall be installed with two #4 rebar stakes not less than 3 feet in length.
16. Install ADA signs on site post marker for campsites.
17. All equipment and materials brought into the park will be free of non-native, invasive plants and animals, and noxious weeds. All staff working on site shall be informed of and follow best management practices for preventing the introduction and spread of non-native, invasive species as described in Division 1 Specifications, Section 1355.
