Yellow Wolf Trail

The proposed trail system would include a core loop system around Mount Rushmore, with scenic vistas, spur trails, and interpretive stops along the route. The trail would be approximately 6-10 miles in length, approximately 3 miles currently exists with an additional 3-7 miles to be developed. It is proposed for foot traffic only. It would link with other existing trails including the Centennial Trail, and potentially to the proposed Mickelson Trail Extention. The proposed trail would provide an opportunity for education, and experiencing the cultural history and natural resources of the Memorial.
