Develop Long Range Interpretive Plan
Fort Necessity National Battlefield » Develop Long Range Interpretive Plan » Document List
Fort Necessity National Battlefield has no up-to-date interpretive planning documents. The most recent "Statement for Interpretation" was written in 1994, it is outdated. It does not include the most recent scholarship on the French and Indian War. There are no up to date planning documents incorporating the Fort Necessity and National Road Interpretation and Education Center opened in October 2005.
The park needs to develop and implement a Long Range Interpretive Plan which will define its goals and objectives in wide variety of interpretive services, facilities and educational programs, while protecting and preserving park resources. Having a Comprehensive Interpretive Plan is critical to the park's overall management of its interpretive operations if the park is to meet its GPRA goals for visitor experience and understanding of the purpose and significance of the park.
The result of this project will be a long range interpretive plan that provides park management and staff with a concise plan to direct all interpretive operations. The plan will be used as a reference for identifying staffing requirements for park sites as well identifying partners and stakeholders.
