Tuolumne Meadows, Replace TM Lodge Water Line

Yosemite National Park » Tuolumne Meadows, Replace TM Lodge Water Line » Document List

The purpose of this project is to restore sufficient water pressure at the Tuolumne Lodge (TML) shower house. The project will occur October 2007 and involves "hot tapping" a new water valve into the the 4" water main that services Tuolumne Meadows. Park utility staff will perform the valve installation in the Tuolumne utility corridor. The basic scope of work involves excavating approximately 30" deep to the main water line, installing the valve with a cement christy box, and backfilling with the excavated materials. The actual width and depth of the excavation will be determined by site conditions. The valve installation location is noted on the attached map.
In addition, a 250' above ground temporary water line will be installed from the new valve to the lodge shower house for water service at the showerhouse/restroom. The temporary line will remain in place until a permanent repair is developed during the summer of 2008 which would include installing a 3" water line.
A small staging area for materials and equipment will be in the north end of the asphalt parking area.
