Upgrade communication infrastructure at Fort Union National Monument

Fort Union NM must upgrade outdated and inadequate telephone communications infrastructure. Qwest Coorporation will install, replace and upgrade the park's existing communication system with a new 25 pair phone cable, a 25 pair indoor building terminal and all associated splicing. The upgrade will occur in previously disturbed corridor of the main entrance road (Route 10)on shoulder to the Visitor Center, include a 25' bore section under road and from the front gate to the Maintenance shop (approximately 4550 lineal feet total).
