Shenandoah National Park » Proposed Recreation Fee Changes for 2007 » Document List

In accordance with the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act of 2004 (REA) and National Park Policies, Shenandoah National park is required to engage the public and to solicit feedback in proposed changes to our recreation fees. The NPS invites and welcomes comments. These comments will help us make well-informed decisions about how to proceed with these changes.

• Entrance Fees for single visit and annual Shenandoah pass will REMAIN at $15 per vehicle and $8 per person (Mar – Nov) and $10 per vehicle and $5 per person (Dec – Feb). The Shenandoah Annual Pass will remain at $30. Commercial Tour Fees will remain unchanged from 2006.

• Fee for first come, first served camping will INCREASE to $15 for Mathews Arm, Lewis Mountain and Loft Mountain and $17 for Big Meadows.

• Fee for reservation camping will INCREASE to $20 for Big Meadows or $3 above first come, first served rate.

Fee for group camping will INCREASE to $35 at Dundo. We are considering the creation of group campsites at Loft Mountain, Mathews Arm and Big Meadows. If these sites are constructed, we expect the following pricing: at Loft Mountain and Mathews Arm a 7-15 persons site will cost $35 and a 16 – 25 persons site will cost $50; at Big Meadows a 7 – 15 person site will cost $45 and a 16- 25 person site will cost $65.
