The National Park Service proposes to amend its regulations for hunting, fishing, trapping, and other natural resource harvest in national preserves in Alaska and for the procedures used to restrict public use and access in Alaska park lands. The revisions in this proposed rule are consistent with Executive Order (E.O.) 14153, E.O. 14192, and Secretary of the Interior's Order (S.O.) 3422 titled 'Unleashing Alaska's Extraordinary Resource Potential.'
The National Park Service has published the draft proposed rule titled 'Alaska; Hunting and Trapping in National Preserves' (RIN: 1024-AE96) in the Federal Register on March 10, 2026 for a 30-day public comment period. This rule would amend NPS regulations for sport hunting and trapping in national preserves in Alaska. Comments on the proposed rule must be received by 11:59 p.m. ET on April 9, 2026.
You may submit comments, identified by Regulation Identifier Number (RIN) 1024-AE96, by either of the following methods:
