In December 2020, Public Law 116-217 authorized the Foundation to establish a commemorative work on Federal land in the District of Columbia to commemorate a critical chapter in American history, the womens suffrage movement and the passage of the 19th Amendment to the Constitution. In January 2025, Public Law 118-226 further mandated that the Womens Suffrage National Monument be built in the heart of the National Mall, within the area designated as 'the Reserve' by the Commemorative Works Act.
