The National Park Service is in the process of completing an important project at Fort Bowie NHS to guarantee safe and reliable drinking water for the visiting public and park staff. This is the final phase of a project that began in 2001, to remove an overland water line and abandon an old water well in Siphon Canyon. The new well has been in service for two years and is working satisfactorily.
