This project is an Environmental Assessment (EA) evaluating the issuance of up to eight concessions contracts to provide visitor services for bear-viewing, sport fishing, and other services with an associated land assignment for year-around, single boat storage on the uplands at Crescent Lake, Alaska.

The purpose of this project is to apply the appropriate authorizing tool, through concession contracts, to manage current and future visitor services and to protect park resources. There is a need for longer term management options and authorizing tools to help manage and protect resources and the visitor experience. Concession contracts and associated land assignments are the preferred authorizing instrument for providing these necessary and appropriate visitor services at Crescent Lake.

The National Park Service's preferred alternative proposes issuing up to eight concession contracts total for guided sport fishing and guided bear-viewing through a competitive bidding process, with each contract having an associated land assignment for year-round single boat storage on the uplands.
