Little River Canyon National Preserve » Park Entrance Fee Pilot Project » Document List

Little River Canyon National Preserve will engage in a pilot park entrance fee program this summer. This pilot will run from Monday, June 26, 2023, through Sunday, September 24, 2023, and will cover the entire area within the National Preserve.

This exciting pilot, transitioning from a 7-day $15 expanded amenity fee to a 1-day park-wide $5 entrance fee, per vehicle, will raise much needed revenue for a host of visitor improvements throughout the park. This could include improvements to the picnic areas, restroom facilities, improve accessibility and other visitor related amenities. The current entrance fee at Canyon Mouth Park will decrease from $15 to $5.

Everyone visiting the Preserve starting June 26, 2023, will have to purchase a daily park pass. The daily pass for the entire park will be $5.00 and this pass can be purchased in person at Canyon Mouth Park, online or via your mobile device, through www.recreation.gov. Signs will be located throughout the park with more information and scannable QR code to purchase the pass.

Little River Canyon Annual Park Pass will remain at $35, valid for one year from the month of purchase, and be valid throughout the park. The LIRI Annual Pass can be purchased at Canyon Mouth Park or park headquarters located in Little River Canyon Center on Alabama Highway 35.

America the Beautiful - The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass Series : Annual, Senior Annual, Senior Lifetime, , Military Annual, Military Lifetime, Access Pass or 4th Grade will be accepted and will not require the purchase of a daily pass. You will be required to display your pass, so it is visible through the windshield. America the Beautiful passes may be purchased at Canyon Mouth Park or at park headquarters located in the Canyon Center.

The park is also investigating going cashless in the fall of 2023 which will decrease the cost of processing cash payments and redirecting those funds to improve the visitor experience.
