This California Air Resources Board (CARB) project will establish an air quality monitoring backup system in the event of Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS). The system will continuously provide backup PM 2.5 data for Yosemite Valley during wildfire/smoke events.

==================================================================================================
CARB staff will install the equipment. The sensor, battery, inverter, and cell modem will be installed in the pump house
located on the southeast corner of the Valley Auditorium roof. The 2' x 5' solar panel would be located ~20' north of the pump house on the ridge of the roof. Flexible conduit would be run from the solar panel to the hardware in the pump house. The solar panel is not to exceed 2' in height above the ridge of the roof, and will be mounted on an aluminum frame.
The frame will be secured with sandbags, the total weight of which will be approximately 55 pounds.

Proposed materials: Purple Air PM2.5 sensor, 2' x 5' Solar Panel, Battery, Inverter, CradlePoint Cell Modem, Flexible Conduit.
Solar panel will be mounted to minimize visibility from the ground.
