Mount Rainier National Park is initiating a Wilderness Stewardship Plan (WSP) to guide the preservation of wilderness character and the management of visitor use and enjoyment of Mount Rainier Wilderness. The proposed WSP and its effects will be analyzed in an environmental impact statement (EIS). Public involvement is crucial to the WSP/EIS planning process.
A federal register notice of intent to prepare an EIS was published December 22. Comments must be postmarked by February 22, 2016, 60 days from publication in the Federal Register.
