Increase Parking Meter Fee at The National Mall and Memorial Parks

National Mall and Memorial Parks is seeking public input about a proposed rate increase for parking on the National Mall and at Thompson's Boat Center. Under the proposal, rates would increase from $2.00 per hour to $2.30 per hour, matching the rate currently charged at meters on streets administered by the District of Columbia. The parking meters continue to support the park goals to manage the public parking turnover allowing more visitors access to park sites; encourage the use of public transit and other transportation alternatives; and use parking revenue to improve and make more affordable visitor transportation related activities inside the park and other park needs.
