Great Smoky Mountains National Park is initiating an environmental assessment and 30-day public scoping period for a proposed mountain bike trail project in the Foothills Parkways Section 8D corridor in Wears Valley, Tennessee. Park staff are hosting two virtual scoping meetings July 28 and 30, 2020, to involve the public in the planning process and provide opportunities to learn more about the project.

5:00 - 5:30 pm
• Welcome and Introductions
• Presentation by Park Staff
o Background and overview
o Project location
o Preliminary alternatives
o Supporting studies and potential issues
5:30 - 7:00 pm
• Questions and Answers
o To ask questions, there is a "Q&A" box located at the bottom of the Zoom screen. Enter question and click send, questions will go directly to Park Staff (only). To enter anonymously check "enter questions anonymously". After the presentation, the NPS staff will read the questions out loud and direct answers to appropriate staff.
o The meeting may adjourn prior to 7 pm if there are no further questions
• Attendees that would like to submit formal public comments are encouraged to do so
through the NPS Planning, Environment, and Public Comment website

the park
