The National Park Service will host a public meeting on the environmental assessment for the proposed establishment of eel passageways on historic Dams 4 and 5 of the Potomac River.

 
Description:
Please join project staff to review the preferred alternative for each location, as identified within the environmental assessment. Learn about migration of the American eel and the obstacles they encounter on their lifecycle migration between freshwater river habitat and saltwater spawning areas. Learn about impediments to this life cycle and some proposals to aid the American eel.

The environmental assessment will be open for public review between November 23, 2009 and January 8, 2010. To comment on the project, please access the project document through the tabs on the left. You may register comments directly through this website.

Meeting Directions/Instructions:
The Cushwa Basin is located approximately 1/4 mile south of the Route 11 and Route 63 intersection in Williamsport. West Potomac Street is also Route 11.

The Trolley Barn is located on the right side of the Cushwa Basin. Ample parking is available on site.
