Record of Decision

The Department of Interior, National Park Service (NPS) has prepared this Record of Decision (ROD) on the Avalanche Hazard Reduction by Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway in Glacier National Park and Flathead National Forest, Montana Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). This ROD includes a description of the background, a statement of the decision made, synopses of other alternatives considered, the basis for the decision, findings on impairment of park resources and values, a description of the environmentally preferable alternative, a listing of measures to minimize environmental harm, and an overview of the public and agency involvement in the decision-making process.
