Rehabilitate DC War Memorial Presentation August 2009


Presentation to the Washington DC Commission of Fine Arts:
The memorial is in good condition but shows signs of age which could be addressed by cleaning the marble, repairing the stone, repointing the joints and addressing water infiltration through the gutter and internal storm water conductor system. The undertaking would also investigate options to replace the existing metal gutter on the roof of the Memorial structure and to clean the stone to remove general soiling, calcium deposits, rainwater staining, biological and non-biological staining. Existing electrical and data service equipment would be upgraded.
