2007 02Feb 26 - Public Scoping Meeting Schedule
The plan/EIS will guide the management of America's first national seashore for the next 15 to 20 years. The NOI officially opened the public scoping period for the planning process and is the first step in involving the public in the environmental analysis process. Scoping includes holding meetings and providing opportunities for the public to comment so that their concerns are identified early and the analysis is focused on important issues. Because the plan/EIS will analyze many complex ecological and social issues, public participation is encouraged and needed.
Superintendent Mike Murray announces the following public scoping meeting schedule to solicit public input on the ORV management plan / EIS. Meetings will be held at four locations as described below. Each meeting will consist of an open house session, followed by a brief presentation, and an opportunity to provide public comment for the record in a public hearing style.
