Mature giant sequoia trees in the Mariposa Grove

Notice of intent to rely on NEPA document

The NPS has submitted a Clean Water Act Section 401 application to the California Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) for a water quality certification associated with work in wetlands. The RWQCB intends to use the NEPA document (EIS) associated with the Restoration of the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias project to satisfy California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) requirements. By law, this notice of intent to rely on the NEPA document must be posted to the public. This notice is also posted for 30 days at the Mariposa County offices, the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, and the South Entrance to Yosemite National Park. If you have any questions on this proposed action, please contact Debra Mahnke of the RWQCB at (559)445-6281 or debra.mahnke@waterboards.ca.gov.
