Request for Scoping Comments and Proposed Project Summary


The National Park Service (NPS) is soliciting public input on the scope of a forthcoming Environmental Assessment (EA) to be prepared for the Winter Habitat and Floodplain Enhancement Project, proposed by the Marin Municipal Water District for 7 sites on Lagunitas Creek and 1 site on Olema Creek managed by Point Reyes National Seashore.

A smaller scale version of the project covering only 4 sites was the focus of the 30-day scoping period ending January 11, 2016. If you submitted scoping comments at that time, your comments will be carried forward and considering in developing the scope of the current EA for the 8 sites.

Please review the attached letter announcing the public scoping period and the project summary information including maps. Also included in the Scoping Letter is a Summary of the comments received from the public during the January 2016 scoping period for the smaller scale project.

During scoping, the public and government agencies are invited to submit written suggestions, comments and concerns to help develop a robust scope for the EA.The public is invited to provide scoping comment during the 30-day public scoping period which closes August 3, 2016.
