Tomales Point Area Plan - Public Scoping Comment Period

Attached is a Point Reyes National Seashore (PRNS) Tomales Point Area Plan (TPAP) public scoping newsletter, which provides a summary of the planning process, including proposed management actions that address the purpose and need of the TPAP. PRNS invites the public to comment on the proposed action, the purpose and need for the project, and the potential issues and environmental impacts of the project.

Comments will be used to help shape the plan and refine the issues that are analyzed in the draft Environmental Assessment (EA). This plan will update the management guidance of this wilderness-designated peninsula, including management of the tule elk herd in this region of the park. The plan will review cultural and natural resources, management considerations in wilderness, and visitor use and access. We encourage you to read the newsletter, review all the information on the TPAP website ( https://www.nps.gov/pore/getinvolved/planning-tomales-point-area-plan.htm ) and participate in the virtual public meeting to inform your comments.
