Environmental Assessment For a Right-of-Way Application for the Sewer Line Installation at the John Muir Gravesite, John Muir NHS


An Environmental Assessment (EA) addressing NPS proposed issuance of a right of way for a sewer line installation is available for public review and comment. The National Park Service (NPS) prepared the EA to evaluate the environmental impacts of the Preferred Alternative and to meet the requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA).

Individuals, agencies, and organizations are invited to comment on the EA. The EA is available on the Internet at: http://parkplanning.nps.gov and comments can be entered directly on the website or sent to:

Public comments must be postmarked or entered into the website by May 18, 2007.

Also, a public meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 7:00-8:00 p.m., at the John Swett Elementary School Multi-use Room, 4966 Alhambra Valley Road, Martinez, CA. The public will have the opportunity to present comments on the content and adequacy of the EA at that meeting, as well.
