Summary of Public Comments on Preliminary Alternatives

This document summarizes the comments received during this 155-day public review of the third newsletter produced as part of the ongoing general management planning process (August 1, 2011 – January 2, 2012). The goal of this public comment period was to solicit comments and encourage public participation in the development of preliminary alternatives. Comments received will help inform the planning team as it continues to refine alternatives and identifies a preferred alternative. This comment period also served as official scoping for the Wilderness Study which was added to the scope of the GMP.

The revised alternatives, which will include identification of a preferred alternative, will be published in the upcoming Draft General Management Plan/Wilderness Study/EIS for further public review and comment.
