Notice of Intent to Adopt a "Mitigated Negative Declaration".


The California Department of Transportation is proposing to correct the alignment of six curves for safety reasons on State Route 190 in Inyo County between Towne Pass and Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley National Park. The project location is east of the Towne Pass Summit from Post Mile 69.2 to 69.8.One or more of the alternatives being evaluated will have an effect on a historic property eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. The document was prepared by the State of California Department of Transportation which is the lead agency.

Death Valley National Park is making this information available but NOT accepting public comments. Comments must be submitted to CALTRANS at the address below.
