Augment Annie Springs Water Supply Environmental Assessment

On March 3, 2016 Crater Lake National Park officials announced the release of the Augment Annie Springs Water Supply Environmental Assessment (EA) for public review. The EA analyzes the use of alternative sources of potable water to ensure an adequate, safe, long-term supply for the park's developed areas. The National Park Service proposes to utilize an existing exploratory well as a new ground water source for potable water that can either supplement the Annie Springs surface water source or provide a sole source of supply to the park water system should Annie Springs not be available. The National Park Service is seeking public input on the actions proposed in the Augment Annie Springs Water Supply Environmental Assessment. Comments about any aspect of the EA can be submitted during a 30-day public review period, from March 3 until April 3, 2016.
