Plaikni Falls Trail Environmental Assessment

Crater Lake National Park invites public comment on an assessment of the environmental effects of a proposal to construct a new trail and parking area in the vicinity of Anderson Bluffs. The public comment period is April 26 through May 26, 2010.

The project involves building approximately 1 mile of new trail through level terrain and constructing a 2000 square foot parking area off the Pinnacles Road. Rest areas with benches and a viewing area at the base of the waterfall will be included.

We are looking to identify issues surround the two project alternatives 1) No Action and 2) Construct New Trail (Preferred Alternative).

Please contact Trails Supervisor, Cheri Killam-Bomhard, at (541)594-3037 or Cheri_Killam-Bomhard@nps.gov if you have any questions regarding this project.
