Public Scoping Brochure for Climbing and Canyoneering Management

Arches National Park proposes to initate an environmental assessment to determine what impacts climbing, canyoneering, and associated activities, commercial and noncommercial, have at Arches National Park, and to consider whether the NPS should further manage or limit those activities. Despite large numbers of climbers at Arches, climbing and canyoneering has remained largely unmanaged and climbers and canyoneers are essentially self-regulated.

This brochure outlines the initial development process of a Climbing and Canyoneering Management Plan at Arches National Park.
