Draft Amendment to General Management Plan

The Lowell National Historical Park has completed a draft amendment to its General Management Plan. The purpose of the GMP Amendment is to reconsider the location of its visitor orientation center and parking lot within the broader context of the Park's mission and goals. It was undertaken in response to the City's proposed redevelopment of the Hamilton Canal District located immediately adjacent to the Park's Visitor Center and at the Gateway to the Park.

The draft GMP is available for public review and comment for 30 days ending August 9, 2010. Copies of the plan are available at the park's website (www.nps.gov/LOWE). A printed hard copy can be viewed at Lowell National Historical Park Headquarters, 67 Kirk Street, Lowell, MA 01852.
