FONSI - White-tailed Deer Management Plan and EA for C&O Canal and Harpers Ferry National Historical Parks

The National Park Service prepared a White-tailed Deer Management Plan and EA for C&O Canal and Harpers Ferry national historical parks. This plan/EA analyzed the environmental impacts of several alternatives for managing white-tailed deer to reduce impacts on native vegetation, forest regeneration, and the cultural landscapes of the parks. The plan/EA was developed for both parks due to their proximity and because they face similar issues relating to the high densities of deer within their boundaries and the effects that deer are having on forests and cultural landscapes. A Finding of No Significant Impact on the Plan/EA was prepared and executed on June 22, 2018.
