Canal Quarters Interpretive Program Public Scoping Newsletter

The National Park Service invites the public to review and comment on the proposed project to validate and expand the current pilot canal quarters interpretive program and evaluate the possible expansion of the program through the incorporation of additional historic buildings throughout the C&O Canal National Historical Park.

The proposed expansion will incorporate additional structures throughout the Park within Allegany, Washington, Frederick, and Montgomery counties in Maryland.

The public is invited to review the attached information and submit comments regarding the project using this website

Topic Questions Instructions:

We thank you for taking time to participate in the development of this project. Responses received as a result of this public scoping period will be used to develop the project's environmental assessment. Listed above are several questions that we hope will generate some responses. Please feel free to offer additional information in the open text box on this page. If you wish to respond with a hard copy letter, please reference any responses to the above topic questions within your correspondence. Please send all hard copy correspondence to the below listed address. Only written responses, electronic and hard copy, can be accepted. Please be aware that you responses will become public information. If you choose to include personal information, such as address, phone number, e-mail address, etc., we cannot guarantee that we will be able to keep that information private.
