Mulberry Tree Removal at the Georgetown Visitor Center

The National Park Service is asking the public to provide comments on the proposed removal of a mature Mulberry tree, located adjacent to the park's visitor center in Georgetown. The tree is causing damage to the building's foundation walls and basement slab.

Consultation with the National Park Service's Chief Horticulturist indicated that the tree is healthy, but it's root system will continue to cause damage to the structure. It is the recommendation to remove the tree.
