Replace windows in non-historic visitor center

The visitor center was constructed in 1980 and the windows have not been replaced since construction. This project proposes to replace nine exterior windows at the Visitor Center with energy efficient operational, casement style windows. The current windows have exceeded their life expectancy. Air is seeping into the Visitor Center, hot and cold depending on the season. The offices are unseasonably warm in the summer and intolerably cold in the winter. The inability to maintain a constant temperature is not conducive to the exhibits or museum artifacts on display in the Visitor Center. Replacing the current windows with energy efficient, double pained windows will reduce energy costs significantly. The use of additional heaters and fans will be unnecessary if the Visitor Center was more temperature controlled. The integrity of the exhibits and museum artifacts will be maintained at a more consistent temperature.
