Finding of No Significant Impact for Granting a Special Use Permit to Cobb County for the Implementation of Georgia Department of Transportation Project, PI#0015279

In compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act of 1960 (NEPA), the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) for GDOT Project PI No 0015279, located in Cobb County, Georgia in December 2018. The EA for and this Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) constitute the record of the environmental impact analysis and decision-making process
for granting a Special Use Permit to access the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park (Park) to construct a trail within the boundary of the Park. The National Park Service (NPS) has approved the selection of the Preferred Alternative identified in the December 2018 EA. Cobb County will construct approximately 1.69 miles of trail within the boundaries of the Park. This FONSI summarizes the findings of the EA and incorporates the public input provided during the public comment period.
