Proposed Tonto Monument Fee Increase
Tonto National Monument is asking for public input on a proposed increase of the daily entrance fee. The current park entrance fee has been in place since 2015, but it is below the suggested agency fee benchmarks. The proposed fee increase would make the entrance fee $7.00 instead of the current price of $5.00. Children 15 years old and younger are admitted for free. Tonto National Monument has used fee revenue for improving visitor center museum exhibits, facility maintenance, outdoor programs, staff wages, park publications, and youth engagement.
Tonto National Monument staff will be present at the Tonto Basin Community Meeting on 10/5/17 to discuss this proposal. This will take place at Tonto Basin Chamber of Commerce, 45675 N. Hwy 188, Tonto Basin, Arizona 85553 at 5:00 PM. Staff have already attend Roosevelt Arizona's Community Meeting on September 11th. Staff also hosted a public meeting at Tonto National Monument's visitor center on September 15th.
