Proposed LCVC Exhibits Refurbishment

In an effort to modernize the visitor center's displays and exhibits, this project will provide updated modernized displays for visitor enjoyment, provide better orientation to the cave tour ticket sales counter, and expand the Park's community outreach by facilitating and expanding the educational & interpretative opportunities for the visitors by modernizing, rejuvenating, and adding multi-lingual elements to the displays.
Providing a full-size diorama of cave and karst formations that the visitor can interact with will open the experience to all of their senses, be it visual, auditory, or tactile. It will prepare them for their journey through Lehman Caves. Instances were a Park guest is unable to enter the full extent of the cave due to mobility, sensory, or other limitations, or perhaps are visiting with small children or older family members, the wall diorama will offer a real connection with and appreciation for the subterranean Lehman Cave formation. Additionally informational exhibits for the Great Basin Dark Sky will be installed. The exhibits will further connect visitors to the wonders of our constellations and assist as an aid to our exemplary astronomy program.

Since the visitor center is home to not only the exhibit space, cave tickets, and bookstore sales, in a compact square footage, the efficient use of this space is imperative.
