Record of Decision for the Restoration of the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias Final EIS

The National Park Service has approved this Record of Decision for the Restoration of the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias Final Environmental Impact Statement. This document includes a brief description of the project background and objectives, a statement of the decision and discussion of the basis for the decision, a summary of the other alternatives considered, a description of the environmentally preferred alternative, a description of the measures that will be implemented to minimize or avoid environmental harm (including a Statement of Finding for Wetlands), and an overview of public involvement and agency consultation. The executed Memorandum of Agreement with the State Historic Preservation Officer is also included. In addition, the park manager's determination of no impairment of park resources and values is attached.
