Homestead Trail Realignment Project Homestead National Monument of America, Beatrice, Nebraska

This document outlines the environment impacts of the proposal to modify the trail system at Homestead National Monument of America. Three alternatives are discussed.

Alternative 1 is the No Action Alternative. Under this alternative there would be no changes to the trail system.

Alternative 2 is the HOME Diamond Alternative. This is the preferred alternative (the one the NPS would like to implement). Under this alternative 0.45 miles of trail will be created 0.37 miles will be removed and a interpretive patio will be built near the clump of cottonwoods in the prairie.

Alternative 3 is the HOME Triangle Alternative. This is the preferred alternative (the one the NPS would like to implement). Under this alternative 0.59 miles of trail will be created 0.46 miles will be removed and a interpretive patio will be built near the clump of cottonwoods in the prairie.
