Finding of No Significant Impact and Environmental Assessment

The decision to move the corridor of opportunity for locating the North Country National Scenic Trail in the Michigan/Wisconsin Border Area (Gogebic County Michigan and Iron County Wisconsin) was signed by the Midwest Regional Director of the National Park Service on July 19, 2013. The decision will allow for the route on the ground for this non-motorized recreational trail to be laid out and developed using larger parcels of public land in more scenic areas. The Finding of No significant Impact (FONSI) and corridor plan and Environmental Assessment (EA) are available for download below.
