Proposal to Change Piscicide in Future Mountain Lake Restoration Projects


North Cascades National Park Complex is proposing to continue to implement the Mountain Lakes Fisheries Management Plan in 2013 by replacing the preferred piscicide, antimycin, that was identified in the plan, with a new liquid formulation of rotenone, CFT Legumine(TM). The attached documents, which include a letter from the Superintendent, frequently asked questions, photos, and white paper on the assessment of the environmental and human health risks of using rotenone to implement the plan, provide further information about this proposal.

In order to engage public input, the park complex has opened a public comment period for this proposal that extends through June 14th, 2013. During this time, please review the attached documents and provide comments through this website (click on "comment on document" above). We look forward to hearing from you.
