Notice of Intent To Prepare a Draft EIS

The Department of the Interior, through the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) and the National Park Service (NPS), will prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) for the adoption of a long-term experimental and management plan (LTEMP) for the operation of Glen Canyon Dam. The EIS will fully evaluate dam operations and will provide the basis for decisions that identify management actions and experimental options that will provide a framework for adaptively managing Glen Canyon Dam over the next 20 years.

The documents below are the Notice of Intent to Prepare an Environmental Impact Statement published on July 6, 2011 in the Federal Register and the Notice of Intent published October 17, 2011 to announce public scoping. These notices provide an overview of the project and allow for comments from the public.

The comment period for public scoping closed as of January 31, 2012.
Please see the project website at http://ltempeis.anl.gov for updates.

Thank you for your participation in this important project.
