Emerald Ash Borer Strategy Environmental Assessment


The environmental assessment analyzes the proposed action and alternatives and their impacts on the environment. This EA has been prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969 and regulations of the Council on Environmental Quality (40 CFR 1508.9). Chapter 1 of this EA describes the relationship of this project to other planning projects on the Memorial grounds, identifies the issues, and introduces the impact topics to be considered. Chapter 2 provides a description of the No Action Alternative and the Proposed Action and identifies the cumulative actions that are considered in the cumulative impact analysis. Chapter 3 describes the affected environment for each resource and the expected impacts associated with the two alternatives. Chapter 4 describes consultation and coordination activities, including stakeholder and public informational meetings that have occurred to date. Chapters 5 and 6 provide a bibliography of references consulted and a list of the document preparers, respectively.
