Notice of Intent to Prepare an Environmental Impact Statement for the Acquisition of land currently owned by Florida Power and Light Company in Everglades National Park, Florida.

The Notice of Intent (NOI) initiates public scoping for an Environmental Impact Statement that will analyze the potential consequences of alternative methods for acquiring Florida Power and Light Company lands in the Park's East Everglades Expansion Area.

The NOI solicits public involvement in identifying the issues, objectives and range of alternatives to be addressed in the EIS.

2. Do you have any comments or concerns about the preliminary alternatives?

3. Do you have any suggestions for other project alternatives that should be considered?

4. Do you have any suggestions or comments regarding the terms or conditions the Secretary of the Interior might require for the potential land exchange to help protect park resources and values?

5. What issues or concerns regarding potential environmental impacts of the land acquisition alternatives should the NPS consider in the EIS?
