White-Nose Syndrome Response Plan

Mammoth Cave National Park (MACA) is releasing a completed White-Nose Syndrome (WNS) Response Plan to various publics. Assuming the arrival of WNS at MACA is imminent, the park plan addresses both pre-arrival and post-arrival strategies:
• investigation and management of WNS;
• continued operation of cave tours;
• restrictions and requirements for cave access;
• restrictions and requirements for bat research, and
• public/visitor outreach and education.

The purpose of this WNS Response Plan was to offer the maximum protection for bats and other resources located within MACA, while at the same time allowing for appropriate research on and public enjoyment of some of these important resources.
