Minimum Tool Analysis for Safety Closures in Wilderness
The National Park Service, Death Valley National Park will install safety closures on features (shafts, adits, trenches, etc.) within designated wilderness in fiscal year 2011. These closures will occur at four widely seperated sites: Eureka Mine, Keane Wonder Mine, Greenwater and Titus Canyon (Leadfield). The estimated cumulative work area for this year is less than ten acres. In accordance with the Wilderness Act and NPS policies, this minimum tool analysis has been completed to evaluate the appropriate closure techniquies for use in wilderness.
