Proposed Construction of the Montgomery Interpretive Center

The Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail was established to commemorate the route, the people, and the events significant to the 1965 Voting Rights March in Alabama. The National Park Service (NPS) has proposed to construct an Interpretive Center for the Selma to Montgomery National Historic Trail in Montgomery, Alabama. The Interpretive Center would allow visitors to learn about the history of the 1965 Voting Rights March at the endpoint of the trail. The NPS has prepared an Environmental Assessment (EA) to analyze the environmental consequences associated with the proposed construction of the Interpretive Center on physical, natural, cultural, and human resources, visitor use and experience, and park operations. The NPS invites the public to comment on the EA.
